2-Lane Adventure is a subsidiary of ATM Corporation (Adventure Travel by Motorcycle). We have, since 1999, organized over 20 adventure holidays in the USA for more than 400 satisfied customers. Adventure, safety and comfort are our priorities. All of our motorcycle tours are accompanied by a guide who has extensive knowledge, experience and passion of and for the Mother Road. Each trip is also accompanied by support personnel and vehicle. The support vehicle has room for 4 - 5 participants, additionally it has capacity for the group’s luggage, a back-up motorcycle and spare parts.
We travel as a group - the guide forging the trail - the support vehicle bringing up the rear. If you should require any assistance (with your bike or other things) the support vehicle will be with you in a matter of minutes. The territory we cover in the course of a day is not meant to be overly strenuous, however, a warm shower and air-conditioned bedroom is a real treat at the end of the day’s ride. The motels are all of good standard and pre-arranged so that you don’t personally have to check-in, it’s all been done for you - just park your bike and receive a key! Trond (the tour guide) is from Norway, but lived in the USA for a number of years. In 1995 Trond received his motorcycle license together with his friend and neighbour Dag Aksnes.
In 1996 the 2 started planning together a motorcycle trip in the USA. The plan was to ride Route 66 in 1999. Their dream even included a logo! The two were very enthusiastic and as they shared their dream with others they found themselves heading up a group of 27 friends and acquaintances on the trip. Even national TV and local newspaper heard tell of the trip and wanted to participate. Their dream became reality and Route 66 in 1999 was undertaken. 22 Harley Davidson bikes and 27 riders including a Norwegian TV producer and cameraman, a newspaper reporter and photographer rode Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica in 9 days, resulting in a memorable TV program, and some great newspaper articles.
On the virgin journey Dag and Trond met up with Michael Wallis (Route 66’s historian and patron) in Santa Fe. Mr. Wallis recognized at once that Trond had a true passion for the road. Mr. Wallis encouraged the pair to establish The Norwegian Route 66 Association and offered his support. In year 2000, Dag and Trond travelled to Tulsa Oklahoma, met with Michael Wallis and his wife Suzanne, and The Norwegian Route 66 Association was founded. Come join us and |
